About HALO® TRIBRID™
HALO® TRIBRID™ utilizes three wavelengths: ablative, non-ablative, and dermal. These three different laser depths target the outer skin layers to clear texture irregularities and fine lines and fade sun damage, age spots, and uneven skin tone. It also contains the power to stimulate collagen remodeling and firmness by heating the deep tissue layers. This device is handheld and contains reengineered power, extended adjustable settings, and faster performance that corrects, refines, and renews the widest range of skin concerns yet. Each pulse from the device is calibrated to your chosen density, allowing for ultimate precision and consistent energy delivery every time. (1)
How The Three Wavelengths Work
- 2940 nm (Erbium/HALO component): Ablative wavelengths that gently remove or vaporize micro-spots of damaged surface skin to instantly smooth texture and refine pores. (2)
- 1927 nm (MOXI): This non-ablative wavelength efficiently breaks up and clears superficial sun spots, pigmentation, and uneven skin tone.
- 1470 nm (HALO component): Dermal wavelengths that deliver deeper thermal heating to the dermis to stimulate long-term collagen remodeling and improve elasticity. (HALO typically combines both the 1470 nm and 2940 wavelengths together.)
Benefits
HALO® TRIBRID™ offers many positive changes to your skin quality and texture in only one session. Some of these benefits include:
- Diminished fine lines and enlarged pores
- Addressed sun damage
- Faded acne scarring and uneven pigmentation
- Reduced discomfort and optimized treatment times
- Targeting all different skin types and textures
- Maximized safety across every treatment zone
Candidates
If you are experiencing moderate-to-advanced sun damage, uneven texture, early signs of aging, fine lines, and stubborn pigmentation, you may benefit greatly from HALO® TRIBRID™. To qualify for treatment, you must also be in relatively good health, free of any underlying skin conditions or active skin infections, a non-smoker, and have realistic expectations for your results.
Personal Consultation
During your personal consultation, Dr. Phelps, or one of his well trained aesthetic nurses, will evaluate your medical history, examine your skin texture, and discuss your skin concerns. To further analyze your skin, he will map pigmentation depth, pore size, and collagen loss using diagnostic tools. They will also address any questions or concerns you may have about your skin and treatment. Before leaving your consultation, our goal is that you feel confident and knowledgeable about each procedure step. If you are ready to rejuvenate your skin, contact us online or call our office at (312) 888-5754 to schedule your personal consultation.
Preparation
Effectively preparing for your HALO TRIBRID facial treatment is an important step to achieve the best-looking results through a smooth procedure. Dr. Phelps advises you to:
- Pause the use of retinoids, acids, and active serums at least one week prior
- Avoid excess sun exposure and tanning at least two weeks prior
- Optimize your hydration levels
- Wear sunscreen daily to protect your skin
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements
- Postpone hair removal treatments
Procedure
At the beginning of your procedure, you will receive a topical numbing agent to eliminate any discomfort. Once the area is numb, we will cleanse the skin and map the treatment zones on your face for precise energy delivery. Next, we will take the HALO® TRIBRID™ handpiece, adjust it to the desired energy depth your skin needs, and move it across the skin in structured passes. The device utilizes motion-tracking technology to distribute energy evenly throughout the face. You may feel a warm, prickling, or static-like sensation accompanied by localized heat, but the device also features integrated air cooling to keep the surface comfortable. Along with this process, the three wavelengths fire together or selectively to refresh the outer skin layer, polish sunspots and hyperpigmentation, and deliver heat into the dermis. We will repeat this step until he reaches each section of your face that needs the treatment. Your total treatment will last about 45 minutes, with the active laser portion lasting 20 to 30 minutes total.
Recovery
Immediately after your procedure, your face will appear hot, tight, and slightly red, mimicking the feeling of a sunburn, for a few hours. We may apply a cooling agent or soothing balm to minimize discomfort.
Recovery generally unfolds as follows:
- Day 1: Your face will appear red, hot, and mildly swollen, much like a sunburn.
- Day 2-3: Your redness will continue as your skin develops a darker tint and a rough, sandpaper-like texture. Your swelling will most likely peak and gradually begin to subside after three days.
- Day 4-5: Active flaking and light peeling will begin as your renewed skin begins to emerge from underneath your skin.
- Day 6-7: Your facial peeling will stop after a week, revealing a brighter and smoother complexion and the signature “HALO glow” appearance.
You must wash your face with a gentle facial wash and apply a gentle moisturizer daily, avoid direct sun exposure for a week, avoid picking at the active scabbing, and stay away from hot showers and saunas to prevent redness and inflammation.
Results
Your HALO® TRIBRID™ treatment will deliver a brighter, smoother, and firmer skin complexion. It will also improve collagen and elastin production over time to further improve your skin quality. Results typically last for a year or more, and deeper and structural improvements in collagen production will evolve over three to six months post-treatment.
